Classes
Our classes aim to develop a love for dance; offering high quality, technical training in a fun and positive environment.
Classes are systemised by age and prior dance experience, and are available from beginners to advanced dancers.
RAD Classical Ballet
Classical Ballet is the foundation of all dance; the technique, values and disciplines translating to all other styles.

From Baby Ballet - Advanced 2 level, the Academy offers ballet classes to students from 2 years of age, following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus.

The RAD is one of the world's leading dance organisations, offering a structured examination syllabus. The syllabi has been carefully designed to compliment the young dancer's growing body, and focuses on developing posture, coordination, rhythm, musicality and expression; as well as promoting self discipline and boosting confidence.

Internationally recognised RAD Examinations are offered to students from Grade 1 Ballet and above.
Students wishing to sit an exam must take a minimum of two ballet classes per week, and a conditioning class.
Please see our 'RAD Ballet Examinations' page for more information.

Pointe
Pointe work commences for dancers at approximately age 12.

A 'pre-pointe' class is introduced for dancers in Grade 4 Ballet, to prepare them for the demands of pointe work.
This class aims to develop the strength of the student's core, legs, feet and ankles, ensuring they have sufficient joint flexibility, technique and maturity to progress to dancing en pointe safely.
Students wishing to enrol in 'pre-pointe' and progress to dancing en pointe must take a minimum of two ballet classes per week, and a conditioning class.
Adult Ballet
It's never too late to experience the joy, creativity and inspiration that learning ballet brings.

With no previous experience required, no pressure, and no concert participation, our Adult Ballet class caters for all levels and abilities (aged 18+).

We welcome you to come and join us at the barre!

Conditioning
Conditioning is offered to students from Pre-Primary Ballet and above, and is a wonderful addition to the dancer's training.
The Academy's conditioning classes aim to improve fitness, strength and flexibility in order to enhance the dancer's quality and range of movement.

Conditioning is compulsory for all students wishing to sit their RAD ballet exams and participate in competitions, however all students are encouraged to take up the classes on offer.
Contemporary
Developed during the mid twentieth century, contemporary is an expressive style of dance that
incorporates elements of both classical ballet and modern dance techniques.
Unlike traditional forms of dance, contemporary is considered to be somewhat unbound in structure,
allowing dancers to perform more freely, based on their own interpretations.

There are three levels of contemporary on offer at the Academy; Junior, Intermediate and Senior Contemporary.
Students can commence Junior Contemporary when they are in Primary Ballet (approximately 6 years old).

Our contemporary classes aim to increase strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, power, endurance,
individuality and expression.

Please note that students must take at least 1 ballet class per week to enrol in contemporary.

Lyrical
Lyrical is a style of dance that embodies aspects of classical ballet, jazz, acrobatics and modern dance. It can be distinctly characterised through the display of emotion and expression to song lyrics.

Students can commence lyrical dance when they are in Pre-Primary Ballet (approximately 5 years old).
Lyrical is offered as part of our Senior Contemporary class and is not a separate lesson.

Please note that students must take at least 1 ballet class per week to enrol in lyrical.
